We help people recover from addiction, illness, and ADD/ADHD:

Attention Deficit/ADHD

Treatment for ADD/ADHD is designed to teach the child relaxation techniques and to generate more self-awareness. Feedback techniques using brain wave patterns are used to help the child gain self-regulatory control of individual brain wave states (e.g., remain relaxed, alert, and focused without figiting). The child is also taught strategies which address reading, math, listening, remembering, and study skills. Thousands of children have benefited from the Neurofeedback approach to AD/ADHD:

  • Improved behavior and learning
  • Improved grades in school
  • Increased self-esteem
  • Higher scores on intelligence tests
  • Inproved relationships with peers and siblings
  • Higher development of potential
  • Improved scores on parent/teacher ratings

Alcoholism

Treatment for clients with a substance abuse challenge is based on the frequency of certain brain wave patterns. Alcoholics tend to be dominated by a high concentration of high stimulus brain patterns (beta waves) and a deficiency in the frequency of relaxation related patterns (alpha waves). To reverse this trend, clients are taught to replace alcohol dependency with self-regulation, which enables them to move from a stimulated, agitated state to the natural state of relaxation at will. Studies by Peniston and others have shown that graduates of Neurofeedback treatment programs rarely, if ever, require readmittance for alcohol abuse treatment.

Diabetes

Treatment for diabetes targets the stress and related tension that causes increased blood glucose levels, which require higher levels of insulin. The first step in the treatment process is to create awareness of individual stress patterns. The feedback instruments produce audible tones, which correspond to different levels of tension in the body. The client recognizes the potential to adjust the level of body tension according to the biofeedback messages (tones). When the person learns this ability to self-regulate, they often find they require a lower level of insulin and they are able to optimize their overall health and well-being.
